Orthognathic surgery

Orthognathic surgery means "straightening of the jaw", and is for patients where upper or lower jaws are too far forward or back. There are different reasons why you may require this type of treatment. This type of surgery is only preformed after extensive evaluation of any skeletal or dental malalignment and is almost always coordinated with orthodontic treatment. Most often you will be referred to us from your orthodontist. However, if you visit us first (before going to an orthodontist) we can discuss your options with you prior to any treatment.

Orthognathic surgery is always preformed in hospital, and a portion of the fee is an OHIP benefit. Please request a consult with Dr. Wong when booking your appointment.
